I was quite disappointed with this purchase. The storage space is not weatherproof, as expected, being made up of slatted wood with approximately 1cm gaps. I was expecting some form of waterproofing Nader the lid. The wood is poor quality with filler very obvious in many knots. This is most obvious on the arms.. Jackie. Delivered quicker than stated, seems sturdy after building it, gullies at the back so rain doesn’t get into the storage area. Only downside is the colour of the seat, many would send it back due to this, but it fits in with our patio, so OK for us, would of preferred it as the original picture shows!. Anonymous. Lovely sturdy seat and very good quality. Looks nice the damper on the seat and the internal storage are a nice touch. The only negative is the assembly instructions are useless. It really comes down to trial and error. If you are not good with flat pack make sure you know someone who is. One tip is don't tighten all the screws until you have finished as the last item to go on, the back rest, has to be slotted into the arms which you can't do if you have tightened the screws. This is a very sturdy and robust storage box and I think it looks well. The lid is well constructed, rigid and tbh I can't see there being any issues with it sagging over time. The lid opening is also assisted with good quality hydraulic hinges which means it is easy to open and will stay open for you without flapping about. It also comes fitted with a hasp lock so it can be locked shut. Although I've only had it a few weeks, it has already been exposed to its fair share of wet stormy weather and it managed to keep all the contents nice and dry inside. Note however this unit is advertised as weather proof... not waterproof. It is plastic on plastic... there are no rubber seals, but as long as it's not going to be sitting submerged in a puddle of water it will be grand. The underside of the base plastic is waffled to give it more strength, but it also means it provides good drainage for any water which might seep below the box. If like mine, the box will be sitting on timber decking, this means the boards will be less likely to rot underneath. Overall very pleased with the box and I think it will last me many years. The lid did come with a few cosmetic scrapes on delivery (it happens) but they very quickly sent out a replacement lid with no hassle.
