The teapot is made of porcelain which is a type of translucent bone china - but this teapot doesn't include cow bone-like traditional bone china. This teapot pours perfectly and feels very well balanced. The handle is big enough to accommodate smaller and larger hands. Do gently hold the knop when pouring to ensure the lid remains in place. Chip and scratch resistant, I'm sure it's likely to be durable and a very useful 1200ml capacity - enough for 4-6 cups. Earthenware teapots of this capacity can be weighty. By comparison, this teapot is relatively lightweight so if weight's an issue, this is definitely one to consider.
