3000 Optimum Pocket mattress is a medium firm mattress and approximately 27cm in depth. The mattress is made from a high count of premium fabric encased pocket springs, filled with comfort layers of polyester and hand tufted, finished with high quality Belgian damask fabric. This is a dual sided mattress and will need to be flipped in order to maximise comfort and longevity. The pocket springs target and alleviate pressure points on 9 key areas of your body by adjusting to your body while you sleep, relieving pressure for back, side, and stomach sleepers. The comfort polyester layers allow for us to create a hypoallergenic mattress, ideal for those with dust mite or hay fever allergies. I’m really pleased with this orthopaedic mattress. You have to wait 48 hours for the harmless scent to dissipate in a well ventilated room so my first night on it was last night. Im 34 with all over rheumatoid arthritis and straight away my joints could feel how supportive it was. Even my hips & spine felt better aligned. In terms of firmness I’d say it’s on the firmer end of the medium-firm scale but this is what I needed to take pressure off my joints, particularly as a side sleeper and on my shoulders. I’ve also noticed today I woke up with no tension in my neck which genuinely hasn’t happened in many years. In terms of depth, I’m glad I went for a deeper mattress than my last one as I found sitting up and getting out of bed this morning was that bit easier. I’m really optimistic it will stand the test of time but the 10 year warranty (which is fantastic as when researching I noticed most offer a year or two) gives me great peace of mind. Price wise I’m very impressed. I’d highly recommend this mattress to anyone with a musculoskeletal condition whose a side sleeper and needs a lot of boxes ticked.. Samantha. I got a dormeo mattress topper about a month ago, that opened my eyes to the possibility of living with less back and hip pain, after a month of hardcore research i pulled the trigger and got this to go on my new small double bed and I've not woke up with a throbbing hip since, I'm not saying I'm cured (i wish) but quality of life is 10x better sleeping on the correct mattress, the people saying it's softer upside down or etc obviously expected a cloud like experience, this is for people who know what a bad back is and need a premium mattress, but even better still, it's a quarter of the price of the big named brands..
