For outside mounting blinds can be mounted up above the window, on the wall. Outside mounting may block lighter. Inside mounted blinds and shades can have small gaps on the side that let some light in. For wider blinds, install additional center support brackets provided for added safety. Side brackets are made of metal, strong enough, not easy to break or deform, durable and sturdy, resistant to fade, and easy to store. Hence, they won't warp or crack in moist conditions. I recently purchased a roll-up blackout blind and I am extremely happy with it. The length is perfect for my long window and the color matches my decor perfectly. The only minor issue I have noticed is that the horizontal top is slightly flexible and not completely straight.
