The flat packed arbour was fairly easy to construct, although assistance from another person (or a third hand!) would have been useful. It was fiddly to get the arch to form a neat circle and awkward to get the gates ‘balanced’ as they kept swinging open. This was possibly because the ground was not perfectly level. I solved both problems by selecting a raised patch of ground, on which the gates could rest. It's a shame the gate lock doesn't fit properly. It opens even when fixed to the floor. I have had to purchase a double ended hook lock to keep the gates shut. The finials on the top of the pillars are very fine and don't really suit the gate. We have kept it only due to it bringing the only one to fit the gap.. Deborah.
