The flat packed arbour was fairly easy to construct, although assistance from another person (or a third hand!) would have been useful. It was fiddly to get the arch to form a neat circle and awkward to get the gates ‘balanced’ as they kept swinging open. This was possibly because the ground was not perfectly level. I solved both problems by selecting a raised patch of ground, on which the gates could rest. In summary, the arbour is a good ornamental feature, but if the gates are to be regularly opened and closed it will have to be sited on very level, firm ground. Steve. Fleet, GB. 2018-05-24 03:56:16

Just beautiful! I bought this archway as a surprise birthday present for my daughter! Quite a random gift for a birthday pressie I hear you say! but as she loved it so much and had had her eyes on it for such a long time I had to treat her. She is going to place between her trellis so roses can ramble up and over. Still a work in progress but it is brilliant quality, well made and delivery sooner than expected. The arch is not high enough to bury posts into ground for support, I used 75x75mm bolted fence repair spikes (300mm) into the ground ( lawn) -the arch posts are approx 67mmx67mm square.. Adrian.
