I bought this as a replacement for my Heritage kettle that kept peeling along the top where the lid is. It looks really nice on my hob, and I love the whistle which reminds me of my childhood. The only disadvantage is that it doesn’t shut itself off like a regular kettle, so you can’t leave it and jump in the shower for instance. That said I knew that when I bought it and have no regrets.. This kettle is beautiful. It arrived well packaged, inside and out. It has a lovely rubberised feel, with a sleek design, the plug is also white which is an amazing bonus. The kettle has a blue light switch when it is turned on and is the quietest kettle I have ever heard! It is also very fast! The lid is the easiest lid I have came across too, with a simple pull off and click on method (even saying it sounds harder than what the manoeuvre actually feels like). It has no chemical smell at all, even upon first opening. And is very easy to pour, although it is quite weighty when only filled up to minimum. It arrived with a couple of black marks on the cream colour, but they rubbed right off with a damp cloth! I can not recommend this enough. It is brilliant and looks way better than my janky old industrial sounding Russel Hobbs one. It also matches my outdated kitchen perfectly, giving it a more in date feel! I looked for kettles for weeks on Wayfair and could not make my mind up, and I must say, this not only had the best reviews but lives up to what people are saying about it. We love this glass kettle with the choice of boiling water at different temperatures for tea and coffee. The boiled water tastes different and can only put it down to that our old kettle had over the years built up lime scale so tge taste of water changed without us noticing the difference. t. I bought this only for the Emma Bridgewater chicken design, because I have had problems with Russell Hobbs kettles in the past few years. The handles on the lids keep breaking! I couldn't resist this, so I hope it will be OK. Lovely kettle, nice and quiet. One problem, despite boiling twice, and rinsing before use, as instructed, the tea tastes metallic.
