The bench is self assembly but quite easy to put together and I did it on my own in about 20 minutes (and I'm over 60!) very comfortable and lots of room to sit on. Very sturdy. I have assembled this furniture in my own today, the instructions weren't great, I had to do extra drilling of holes and have learnt how to use screw bolts and nuts!! It took me 6 hrs to build it due to the instructions not being clear... however, after a quick sanding and applied preservative oil, it looks beautiful, the seats are comfy, and it fits in well with my garden!!!. Excellent quality sturdy seating. Easy to assemble. The centre table is a good size as others I've seen have been quite small.
