This round Extendable Dining Table is designed for smaller compact spaces and is perfect for the occasional additional meal time guests. The Extendable Dining Table is made entirely from 100% solid oak timber and features an easy to use butterfly extension mechanism where the table slides open and the extension panel flips out and slots into the centre of the table. Once in, the table pushes back together to fit flush against the side panels. There are locks underneath the table to prevent the extension coming loose. When fully extended this round table can seat up to 6 people and when not extended will seat up to 4. The Extendable Dining Table has a lacquered finish which gives the table a beautiful light oak colour and ensures all year round protection. June update: after just 3 months, the finish has started to streak and come off one one of the planks, see last photo. Such a shame... hopefully wayfair can do something about that, a ~£600 table shouldn't look like that after 3 months! Lovely, solid table. After reading the other reviews, I was worried about it arriving damaged, especially when the box arrived banged up, so I made sure to record the opening up. Didn't need to worry, not a scratch on it. Either I was lucky or they've sorted out their delivery problems... It looks and feels great. The opening mechanism is smooth as butter. The channel in the table top does attract crumbs like a magnet though. I might fill it in with a clear epoxy some day... Until then, regular hoovering of the channel works well enough. Grew up with round dinning tables, needed a new table so decided it would be nice to go back to a round table , but with the added bonus of being able to extend the table to fit 6 people. The table looks realy smart and is well made, the extra leaf is quite heavy, but its solid when added no worry of the table collapsing.
