The nestbox is made from slow-seasoned FSC timber and maybe painted annually with matching water-based paints to maintain their appearance. The nestbox may be cleaned out of any old nesting material and disinfected with a suitable product such as Wildkleen outside of the breeding season (Sept to Feb). To open, swing the brass catch to the upright position and pivot the nestbox side, by opening at the bottom.

Spent a lot of time looking for a suitable feeding station and am happy that I made the right choice. The prevoius one I had was a third the price, is only 18 months old, could only take one bird feeder, showing signs of wear and rodents were having a whale of a time having a good feed from it - the bird food was only lasting a few days. So I looked for one that looked sturdy, could take several bird feeders and rodent proof. The Deluxe feeding station seemed to fit the bill and also have a squirrel baffle as part of the package (the large circular item in the bottom half of the image). I'm pleased to say the baffle appears to be working as there is still plenty of food left even after a few days. From the image I thought the baffle was made out of plastic but it is made of fairly sturdy metal. Buying a baffle separately costs at least £14.99. The pole did seems to be a little wobbly as it is in sections, but I have found it to be sturdy, as you can see from all the large bird feeders on it (total of five) and it's not struggling with the weight or wavers in the wind. The stake at the bottom is like a giant spear and on top of that there is a four point stabiliser. In summary this bird feeding station is good quality and value for money.. Ning.
