I would probably have gone for a honey coloured pine if one had been available but the one thing I have worked out is that pine is not popular anymore and I wanted something to go with furniture I bought back in 2002. If I could have found something preassemled I would have but this was the best I could do under the circumstances. It is solid wood and a good price for what it is. It is also fairly easy to assemble. I am quite pleased with it now it’s up, but I was cursing in the middle of building it because some of the screws are at bit of an odd angle. It's fine for the money. If you want top quality and heavy pine, buy something else. If you want a reasonably easy to put together piece of flat pack furniture at a reasonable price, buy this. Looks ok once built and took just over 2 hours to put together. Instructions are pretty good on the whole to be fair and all the required parts were present. Most annoying thing is that the pictures show a wholly brown, curved top on the wardrobe when in reality it is a flat white top with brown edging trim. I bought the vestry cupboard before the wardrobe. Our spare bedroom is quite small so I was very limited on what I could put in it. I was hoping for a bit more of a honey pine that would match the furniture I bought way back in 2002. However this was the best available. I would have preferred something that was preassembled with proper joinery, but it was either this or something bespoke which would have been the other end of the price scale. Pine simply is not popular anymore and old pine was too big. It arrived quickly and very easy to assemble. I am pretty pleased with it and adds a bit of character.
