This cot was absolutely perfect for our small, central London flat. At one point, this squeezed in next to my bed in our small bedroom! The drawer underneath was also handy to store extra bedding and other baby bits. When we moved house, this came with us for baby #2, and survived the move as an assembled cot, so it’s not only compact but also very sturdy. The fact that you could change the height of the mattress as the baby grew was super useful, and then into toddlerhood, it becomes a small toddler bed. Not too sturdy but not too bad either for a baby to toddler its fine. U can use it as a new born baby next to me cot...initially i left one side off so i can easily reach baby from bed then i know i can put up the 4th side rail on too when baby can turn etc...you do get the extra slat to make it into bed for toddler like its shown in the description pic...also the mattress is quite thick i dint expect a baby mattress to b this thick and its quite good quality too. Ordered a white Grace cot bed on Sunday - it was delivered the following Wednesday - excellent service. The cot was well wrapped in a large cardboard box, polystyrene etc and was blemish free. The instruction booklet was clear and gave good advice as to the construction and use of the cot. You do need two to put it together, ond to hold one end whilst the other inserts the screws etc. Having understood the principle of how things worked we soon put it together, 30 minutes at most. Be sure to put the little circular bolts in the holes the right way, with the slot for the screwdriver facing outwards. We bought the cot for visits from our granddaughter who is four months old and so placed the mattress at the the highest setting, but only for the time being. We will need to lower it to the middle setting in a couple of months. We were very pleased with the standard of the cot, very solid and attractive.
